In November 2018, L4Life Alumni Hugo completed his first Duathlon!
By Hugo’s mum, Christine.
A while back, I read that one of the greatest gifts you can give a child with Autism is time.
Well, that really rang true today when Hugo completed his first duathlon. Almost 12-years-old, and after many years of just not being able to ride a bike (and me accepting that it was not for him), he recently told me he was ready to learn.
After only a couple of lessons, he was on his way; he joined a cycling club, and then there we were just TWO WEEKS later getting up at 5am for his first triathlon (swimming cancelled at last minute due to the atrocious weather!!).
I must say I was a little teary when he crossed the finish line! Such a huge achievement, and something I just had to share ❤
Shout out to Learning For Life for your early input and creating that ever important foundation for learning xx
