We support the Uluru Statement

The Learning for Life Autism Centre supports the Uluru Statement from the Heart, calling for Voice, Truth and Treaty, as well as the need to enshrine the Voice in the Constitution. This aligns with our organisational values of respect, trust, equity and kindness.

We are privileged to work across the traditional lands of the First Nation’s People of Victoria. We pay our respects to their Elders, past and present, and share their hope that we can live together in a more just and harmonious future.

We acknowledge the intergenerational and ongoing trauma experienced amongst First Nations families, and the need for Learning for Life to be part of the healing and reconciliation process. We wish to enhance opportunity to access our services, so that First Nation’s children can be included in a culturally sensitive way.

“When we have power over our destiny our children will flourish. They will walk in two worlds and their culture will be a gift to their country” – from the Uluru Statement from the Heart

We recognise and respect that there will be diverse opinions amongst our Learning for Life Village in regard to the Voice to Parliament.
