It’s National Volunteer Week from 15 – 21 May. A great way to celebrate and recognise the work of many Australians who give their time to support others.
Volunteering at L4Life provides opportunities to make a difference through helping us to run our fundraising events, share skills and experience and develop new ways of operating.
While our volunteers do not work with the children we support, they do contribute to the important operations of Learning for Life in many ways.
Our volunteers have worked with us to:
- Run our fundraising events, including Kwiz for Kidz, Golf Day, RunMelbourne
- Provide governance through our Board and sub-committees
- Provide services in kind
- Act as advisors
Volunteering is a great way to give to our community, but also gives back to you by:
- Becoming part of a community
- Providing the opportunity to make new friendships and create professional networks
- Helping you gain experience and learn new skills
- Opening up new social and cultural experiences
- Allowing you to develop personally and build confidence
