The Australian Government is developing a National Autism Strategy to help improve the life outcomes for Autistic people across Australia.
The Strategy will be for all Autistic Australians. It will cover key reform areas including access to services, healthcare, education and employment. It will help to guide a more coordinated, national approach supporting Autistic people at each stage of life.
The strategy will be informed by Autistic people; their families and carers; the Autism sector and researchers.
There is opportunity for you to have your say. A discussion paper has been released and provides an overview of some of the known issues, with possible areas of actions and questions.
People are invited to share their ideas through submissions (questionnaire, written, audio or video submission), taking part in the moderated online ideas wall or attending face-to-face community events in each state and territory.
Submissions close Monday 30 October, 2023.
Easy Read and Auslan versions of the discussion paper are also available
We encourage our community to take part and have your say in this important consultation process.
