Run Melbourne Success

01 Aug 2023

Another Run Melbourne has been and gone and we are just blown away from the support L4Life received for the 2023 event: from runners to walkers, fundraisers to donors, cheerleaders and friends.  And the icing on top of the cake was that we raised over $11,000 dollars from our general Village.

Thank you to everyone who was involved either by running or walking, donating or fundraising or getting behind us on the day.

While the aim of the day for L4Life is to get our Village together, raise funds for the Centre and awareness of what we do, there are always some great stories surrounding the day:

  • Cassie, Steph and Caitlyn made a pact to run the 5.2km with limited training and made it. They’ve now decided to commit to running 5km together once a month!
  • Erin trained to reach her goal of running in the 10km and did it under her goal time.
  • Victoria, Sadie and Tilly had committed to run, but when Vic came down unwell, Sadie and Tilly’s dad stepped in to run the 5.2kms with the girls.
  • Clemmie’s family came out firing when they fundraised over $4,000 for the event.  Clemmie came to cheer her mum Fiona and brother, Hugo on who ran the 5.2km together.
  • Thomas and Vincent ran the half marathon in support of L4Life – a great feat, considering both had only just come back from holidays. Thank you to Danny (5.2km) for encouraging the boys to take part.
  • Sean ran the 10km and then joined his wife, Chris, and children in the 5.2km walk/run.
  • Claire and Dylan jumped on board and finished the 5.2km, even after a weekend of sport!

These stories make the event even more fun and connect our Village. We’re already talking about next year’s event.  Hopefully you can join us.
